Huis van de Toekomst BoTu
This mobile greenhouse on manpower is a project of Huis van de Toekomst in collaboration with Dakpark Foundation, a comunity garden on the rooftop garden in BoTu. BoTu is a neighbourhood located in west Roterdam. During my internship at Huis van de Toekomst I worked on this project with Bart Groenenwegen.
The portable greenhouse moves through the neighbourhood on manpower. Plants are grown in the greenhouse, after which the greenhouse moves on. In this way, plant knowledge and expertise spreads through the neighbourhood. The cultivated vegetables continue to grow and the harvest is distributed among the managers of the greenhouse.
Huis van de Toekomst (House of the Future) comes up with different scenarios on what the future human-powered society in BoTu could look like by building prototypes and doing research.
